Lyles lights it up in Shanghai


In javelin, China's Lyu Huihui won the women's competition for the second year running with a throw of 66.89 meters. Lina Muze of Latvia and Christin Hussong of Germany took second and third place respectively.
China's Gong Lijiao, who won the women's shot put last year, was unable to follow up with another victory as Chase Ealey of the US won with a heave of 19.58m. Gong settled for second place while Aliona Dubitskaya of Bulgaria finished third.
China's Li Ling cleared 4.72 meters to set a new Asian mark in women's pole vault. The 29-year-old improved her own Asian record, set in Doha in 2016, by 2cm en route to the silver medal after making her second attempt at 4.72.
Katerina Stefanidi of Greece cleared the same height on her first attempt to take the gold.
Meanwhile, China's Wang Yu won the men's high jump while teammate Wang Jia'nan took second place in the long jump.
