Actress Lou Naiming played the role Mephistopheles in a 1994 Chinese production of Faust directed by renowned director Lin Zhaohua. She says that she enjoyed the conversation between God and Mephistopheles, which is "all about human nature and is a mirror of human existence".

"Few actresses play the role of the demon but when you give the role a feminine touch, the chemistry surprises both the audience and the actors," says Lou. "I am looking forward to Liao's performance and how the director will tell the story from 200 years ago."
