A Journey of Oriental Civilization, organized by the Mencius Foundation, was launched on Saturday in Beijing.

2025 will see the journey take place in six European cities— Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Wolfsburg, Hannover and Munich, where more than 20 political leaders and celebrities are invited to participate in various cultural exchange events, according to Meng Liang, chair of the foundation.

"The forms of cultural exchange during the journey include but are not limited to international conferences, business visits, concerts, and sports events," Meng said.

He added that the foundation aims to organize a series of "A Journey of Oriental Civilization" events to help global leaders in politics, business, academia, tech and art better understand Chinese culture and oriental civilization and facilitate international cooperation in these fields.

Meng also announced that the journey will kick off with a New Year concert in Hamburg, Germany, on Jan 18, co-hosted by the foundation and Hainan TV Station.
