Zhuzhou boosts railway innovation with strong industry support

Zhuzhou, a major train manufacturing hub in Central China's Hunan province, has united over 400 companies in the supply chain, 28 national innovation platforms and 34 vocational colleges, driving the rapid commercialization of railway equipment innovations, said a national lawmaker.
Li Donglin, a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress and chairman of CRRC Zhuzhou Institute Co Ltd, which supplies high-end sensors and other key components for both electric and diesel-powered trains, said his company has successfully achieved full independent development across the entire value chain, from power chips and algorithm software to key components and system integration.
This has strongly supported China's global leadership in railway equipment and its position at the forefront of the entire industry chain, Li said.
"By leveraging our technological expertise in rail transit, we have fostered the rapid incubation of emerging strategic industries such as new energy equipment and new energy vehicles, creating a development pattern where the dual clusters of transportation and energy equipment support each other," he added.
