Orchestra gives ancient melodies new life

The China National Traditional Orchestra presented a concert on March 15 titled Chinese Folk Song Map — Traveling with Folk Songs at the Beijing Concert Hall.
The concert was conducted by Wang Guanren and featured revered singer Yan Weiwen. It also gathered notable vocalists such as Zhang Hui and Gong Shuang, and Peng Guangqin, a representative inheritor of southern Shaanxi folk songs. Through the power of folk songs, the concert presented the audience with a cultural feast that transcended time and space.
