Digital work orders boost efficiency at State Grid Lishui

Upon receiving a work order via the "i State Grid" app on the morning of Aug 26, Liu Yinhui, a distribution area manager at the Xiangxi Power Supply Office of State Grid Lishui Electric Power Supply Company in Zhejiang province, immediately prepared the necessary instruments and proceeded directly to the work site.
This is an example of how the office utilizes the distribution grid management system for intelligent digital dispatching, enhancing the efficiency of the power supply office.
Since the beginning of this year, Xiangxi Power Supply Office has been actively integrating systems such as a digital supply management platform, which digitizes all stages of the work process — including plan formulation, task assignment, process supervision, and quality evaluation.
The office is also developing a new management system in which work orders drive business operations, data supports decision-making, and performance incentives boost efficiency. This approach leads to more standardized management of operations, more intensive asset management, and leaner personnel management, effectively motivating internal teams and enhancing the quality and efficiency of the power supply office.
"Previously, personnel allocation was uneven across power supply offices. Under the old compensation model, it made little difference whether you did more or less work, or performed well or poorly — employee motivation was generally low," said Lyu Yifan, director of the Xiangxi Power Supply Office.
By using the work order dispatching platform for information integration and data sharing, the office can now intuitively track the progress of various tasks. This work order-driven method increases employee engagement in accepting assignments. Simultaneously, the office has standardized the measurement of work outcomes, fully embodying the performance principle of "more pay for more work".
The Xiangxi Power Supply Office has broken down barriers between operation and maintenance systems by integrating data from multiple channels and systems. In June, it achieved full-service coverage of "i State Grid" work orders, and in August, it joined the work order quality evaluation team of State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power, contributing to the improvement and implementation of work order quality evaluation standards.
Since the first half of the year, the monthly performance gap between employees in similar roles within the office has exceeded 1,200 yuan ($168.28), further promoting differentiated compensation distribution and making more effective use of existing human resources.
Power supply offices are the fundamental organizational units of power supply companies and the front line of customer service. State Grid Lishui Electric Power Supply Company will continue to enhance the quality and efficiency of business operations at power supply offices by advancing the level of digital services.
