As people seek more diversified travelling modes, the recreational vehicle (RV), once the symbol of high-end transportation method, has gradually stepped into the lives of more Chinese families.

Travelers who enjoy this new lifestyle are mostly rich people who are more than 40 years old. Some of them think the life on the wheels is cool, while some others just want to experience the feeling of travelling the world with their homes with them.

The RVs can be transformed from a normal truck, or can be bought directly from the manufactures, with price starting at 200,000 yuan and going up to more than two million yuan, said Ji Yuesheng, an RV owner for many years in East China's Zhejiang province.

To date, there are 10,000 recreational vehicles in China and a total of 18.5 billion yuan has been invested in this sector, according to Liu Hanqi, general secretary of the China Tourism Automobile and Cruise Association.

RV is the usual term for a motor vehicle or trailer equipped with living space and amenities found in a home.
