Online search giant Baidu Inc has set up a business unit to spearhead its automobile efforts and plans to put driverless cars on the roads in the next three years.
The Beijing-based company, which successfully completed a test drive of its driverless car on various roads in early December, said it intends to mass-produce the vehicles within five years.
