Plans for a pilot tri-networks integration project, including pilot cites, details of the programs as well as preferential policies, are expected to come out on June 25, Economic Information Daily reported Friday.

An insider reveals that preferential policies may include overall planning, zero sales tax for pilot enterprises, cuts on settlement and network license permits, favorable recruiting systems and financial support.

More than 10 cities are reported to have applied for the pilot projects. But experts suggest that the number would be better if it didn't exceed five for the project. And the ultimate winners should meet five conditions: bidirectional change of local CATV, substantial CATV subscribers, a steady economic level, existence of listed enterprises and an enterprise nature of the local cable TV network.

The integration of the tri-networks, namely telecommunications, cable TV and the Internet, is a program aimed at providing the three services through a single line.
