A video recording of a female reporter's rescue after she was pulled in by floods while on assignment in Dujiangyan, Sichuan province drew numerous hits on the Internet.

Liu Yang replayed the harrowing scene in her mind and said she is thankful for her recovery by a villager and a couple of firefighters.

"We were wading through the water by a guide rope to get to villagers on the other side trapped by floods. I lost my grip due to the strong current and was washed away," she said.

The video clip shows that a man in a blue striped shirt, along with several firefighters, went up at once for the rescue. They managed to pull Liu Yang back from the roaring currents, which swept them more than 20 meters within seconds.

"It is an experience that I will not forget, where I was saved from a most desperate situation," Liu recalled. "I am grateful to the soldiers and the villager."
