WENZHOU - Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao on Thursday visited a toddler who was still hospitalized in ICU for injuries in the weekend high-speed train crash in Wenzhou city, East China's Zhejiang province.

Wen, who arrived in Wenzhou on Thursday morning, patted the two-and-half-year-old Xiang Weiyi on her head and told doctors and her relatives to "take good care of her".

The child was the last survivor rescued from the deadly train collision, which has left at least 39 dead and 192 others injured. She just had her second surgery Thursday morning, and was still under intensive medical care.

The girl's surgeon Lao Jie told Wen that the surgery was successful.

Doctors previously said the girl, Xiang Weiyi, possibly faced amputation due to poor blood circulation in her left leg. But after her first surgery on Sunday, the blood circulation in her leg was improving.

The child orphaned in the tragic accident has received nationwide attention. Besides the leg injuries, she also suffered bruises to her lung, liver and soft tissues.

Wen also visited other injured victims in hospital, before heading for a press conference held at the train crash site.
