Beijing hosted the Asia Pacific regional meeting of the World Trade Centers Association from Feb 22 to 24 with representatives from more than 30 world trade centers in attendance.

As the region gains increasing importance as a driving force in international trade, the forum discussed crucial components of successful trade centers including brand-promotion, exhibitions, services, facilities, real estate and clubs.

A roundtable was held for dialog between the membership and the WTCA board and management.

Many international delegates said the "Doing Business in China" session was especially helpful with its prominent speakers from local government and the business community.

In addition, China World Trade Center and World Trade Center Beijing took the opportunity to showcase the modernization of the capital city through a cultural night and new Beijing city tour.

"This year's meeting speaks volumes about the dynamic economic growth we are witnessing in China and throughout Asia, not to mention the strengthening World Trade Center network around the world," said Ghazi Abu Nahl, chairman of the WTCA.

The forum was organized by the World Trade Centers Association, supported by Beijing municipal government and hosted by the China World Trade Center and World Trade Center Beijing.

The WTCA, founded in 1970, is a non-profit, non-political association for the establishment and operation of world trade centers as instruments for trade expansion. Representing more than 320 members in nearly 100 countries, it is an unofficial umbrella association that unites corporations and government agencies in international trade.
