China Business App Market, a platform initiated by the National Development and Reform Commission to aid companies in the mobile Internet market, welcomed its first clients in Shanghai on Tuesday.
More than 60 companies, most of which are service-based small and medium-sized enterprises, signed up for services from the platform.
China Business App Market provides tailored services, such as making mobile apps, driving promotions on popular portals, and maintenance of content. Service fees start at 20,000 yuan ($3,200) a year.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said there were more than 1.2 billion mobile users in the country by the third quarter last year.
According to data provided by marketing consultancy agency iResearch, China's mobile Internet market will reach 600 billion yuan by 2017, nearly five times larger than that of 2013.
