Sinopec Guangdong Oil Products Company, a sub-branch of Sinopec, China's largest petroleum refiner and oil products producer, and Industrial Bank Co have launched a financial IC card to facilitate its smart application in gas service.

The smart card integrates bank deposit and credit service, allowing direct use in gas-fueling services, according both sides.

"Issuing the card is an important move for us to facilitate Internet services for users and help promote operation efficiency," said Chen Chengmin, general manager of Sinopec Guangdong Oil Products Company.

The financial card service is currently available in eight cities in Guangdong province, including Guangzho, Dongguan, Foshan, Jiangmen, Zhanjiang, Zhuhai, Zhongshan and Shantou, according to the company.

Sinopec has developed more than 100 million users who own its gas-fueling cards in China, with more than 12 million in Guangdong, Chen said.
