Wang: supervisory system changes underpin broader political reform

By ZHANG YUNBI | chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: 2017-01-13 20:40

Ongoing reform of the national supervisory system is part of major political reform in China, and it will strengthen the leading anti-corruption role of the Communist Party of China,a senior Party official has said.

Wang Qishan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), made the comments during a meeting with Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, in Beijing on Friday.

China's anti-corruption campaign has won public support, and the country will see a law on supervision stipulated and a national supervisory commission established to conduct supervision, investigations and carry out punishments for illegal activity by public servants, Wang said.

Trong hailed the achievement of the CPC in tightening intra-party governance, and expressed readiness to further deepen cooperation on party building and anti-corruption efforts.
