China Minmetals Corporation President Zhou Zhongshu delivered a keynote speech at the 2010 UN Global Compact Leaders Summit in June. He was the only Chinese entrepreneur to do so, winning accolades for his company's sustainability policies.

Zhou spoke on Minmetals's practices in economic development, environmental protection and poverty relief, among others. In particular, he mentioned Minmetals' efforts to honor international corporate citizenship in Australia, Peru and Laos.

"Sustainable development is not only a requirement of corporate social responsibility, but also a requirement of corporate survival and development," Zhou said.
