Analysts call for measures to stop cheating on tests

By Jin Zhu | China Daily | Updated: 2014-01-14 07:26

China needs more effective measures to combat corruption in the student recruitment process to safeguard fairness, analysts said in the wake of a recent scandal in which college officials allegedly colluded with institutions to help students cheat on tests.

The country saw a series of strict rules implemented in exam rooms in recent years, said Chu Zhaohui, a senior researcher at the National Institute of Education Sciences.

"However, many admissions scandals were caused by ineffective supervision and corrupt practices among senior officials in the educational sector, such as university authorities," he said.
