Not just horsing around

By Yang Xinwei | China Daily | Updated: 2016-05-28 07:57

Alex Hua Tian is embracing the responsibility that goes with being one in a billion.

After becoming the first Chinese and youngest ever rider to compete in three-day eventing at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Hua Tian said the intervening years have increased his commitment to success in representing his country on the international stage.

Son of a Chinese father and British mother, Hua Tian failed to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics but two years later he became the first Chinese equestrian to win an individual medal at the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, when he took silver in eventing.
