The National Museum of China released their program of upcoming highlights, including an exhibition of medieval relics from the Louvre.

The exhibition, to be opened on Oct 28, marks the first cooperation between the two museums. It will display about 280 pieces for more than three months.

On Sept 15, it will unveil an exhibition to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Giuseppe Verdi. Featured exhibits include premiere posters of Verdi’s operas, his manuscripts and other memorabilia.

In November, visitors will be able to appreciate the royal collections of Liechtenstein – including works by Rubens, van Dyck and other Flemish painters.

The National Museum of China received 4.9 million visitors between January and August, a 149 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

Besides holding exhibitions, it offers diverse educational programs to make its permanent collections and displays more accessible, including lectures, forums, art salons and performances of Peking Opera.
