Top global designers go fur it at Saga's Beijing show

A model shows Saga Furs' fall/winter 2016 collection by international designers in Beijing.

Speaking of fur, which tends to be a material that often generates controversy, Lee says that she had some concerns about the material until she saw how the animals were cared for at Saga Furs.

"I realize that the main issue is not whether we are using fur. The issue is how the animals are treated and the fur used," she says.

Then came Italian designer Francesca Liberatore.

Known for her playful style, Liberatore combines fur with natural fabrics.

Asymmetrical shapes were accompanied with lively patterns and sporty hints for a young, lighthearted style.

Already an establish designer in China, Zhao Huizhou, founder and head designer at Hui by Zhao Huizhou, proved again her mastery of form with a collection that highlighted sleek lines and neutral colors, easily wearable by urban women.

The show ended with Indian American designer Bibhu Mohapatra.

Founder and head designer of his namesake brand, he is best known for dressing US first lady Michelle Obama when she visited India with her husband, US President Barack Obama.

Prior to founding his own brand, Mohapatra designed for French luxury furrier J. Mendel for nine years.
