Wuyutai, founded in 1887 by Wu Xiqing from Anhui Province, has long been a very popular tea brand in Beijing. Over the past 126 years, Wuyutai has grown from a small tea house to an industrial bellwether engaged in a number of tea-related businesses. Its more than 200 franchised stores sell a variety of Chinese teas, as well as tea-flavored moon cakes, ice cream, cuisines and tea ware sets. Its jasmine tea is also a favorite of the tea lovers in the city. In 2008, Wuyutai, an exclusive supplier for the Beijing Olympics, provided 1.5 million packets of bagged-tea for delegates and athletes.
