Three Anhui airports increase flights for Spring Festival
Updated: 2014-01-20

The 2014 Spring Festival travel rush is on the horizon. Hefei Xinqiao International Airport, Huangshan Airport and Jiuhua Mountain Airport have just set their flight schedules for the rush. Both Xinqiao and Huangshan airports will hold roughly 6 percent more flights to handle 4 percent more passengers.

During Spring Festival, extra flights at Hefei Xinqiao Airport will mostly reach Southern cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Haikou and Sanya. There will also be more flights to Pudong (Shanghai city) and Hong Kong. The passenger peak for Xinqiao Airport is expected to happen between January 28 and 30, with daily passenger traffic possibly exceeding 20,000.

Due to the influence of road construction, tourists flying from Xinqiao Airport are advised to set aside sufficient time. Under special weather conditions such as smog or heavy snow, the airport bus might be the ideal choice.
