Left-behind children raise legal awareness at court

A group of left-behind children visit Qingdao intermediate people’s court on Aug 5 to gain some legal knowledge.

A summer camp, participated in by 43 left-behind children, was held in a legal education base of Qingdao’s intermediate people’s court on August 5.

Organized by the Family Planning Association of Qingdao Luoyang neighborhood, the activity aims to enhance children’s legal awareness as well as to prevent and reduce potential crime.

The group visited the court under the guidance of the judges, who explained to them a basic knowledge of law, the court system, litigation and judgments.

During a one-hour lecture, a judge explained legal items through cases, which helped the children understand basic law items closely related to their everyday lives and development.

The judge also provided suggestions and solutions to children’s questions.

Over the past years, Qingdao intermediate people’s court has adopted comprehensive means to publicize the law among students. The court invites students to visit the court and to attend lectures.

At the same time, judges deliver lectures in schools, endeavoring to spread a knowledge of the law among adolescents.
