A legal education event targeted at the Shanxi capital market was held in Taiyuan on Dec 4.

By increasing awareness of the regulations and laws in the capital market among the public, the event –– hosted by Shanxi office of China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) –– aimed to improve legal awareness among investors and educate financial institutions on conducting their legal affairs .

"We intend to better investors' recognition and understanding of related financial laws when strengthening the management of the Shanxi capital market," said Wang Runquan, vice director of the Shanxi office of CSRC.

Some 20 local securities, futures and listed companies took part in the event, delivering brochures and hanging banners to further promote public legal awareness. The methods of preventing illegal financial activities in the capital market and protecting individual property rights were also introduced to attendees, in order to help them avoid losses caused by a lack of legal knowledge and being overcautious when investing.
