With the Formula One Shanghai Grand Prix as their platform, which was held from April 17-19, the Beijing Travel Bureau has begun their campaign to attract more tourists from all over the world.

Organized by the Beijing Travel Bureau, a “Beijing Travel” show was held outside the Shanghai International Circuit during the Shanghai GP. The exhibition was themed with remarkable Beijing scenery points, such as the Bird’s Nest, the Water Cube and the National Theater.

Spectators could also participate in a simulated digital racing game to experience traveling in Beijing and take photos with the Olympic mascots Fuwa.

Beijing’s tourism industry received a huge boost from the Olympic Games last year, drawing a total income of 221.9 billion yuan ($32.5 billion).

The main tourism themes being focused on for 2009 in the capital city are the “60th National Day Celebration” and the “30th anniversary of Reform and Opening-up”.Total tourism income is expected to reach 232 billion yuan ($34 billion).
