The Online CIFIT, the virtual platform for the China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT), will continue to provide services as an international business matchmaking platform after the 2020 CIFIT, according to Chen Haoying, director of the Convention and Exhibition Affairs Bureau of Xiamen, during an interview on Sept 10.

The Online CIFIT, established by the CIFIT and Alibaba Group, offers people in over 40 countries and regions services related to exhibitions, project matchmaking, investment negotiations, forums and symposiums, and contract signing.

Chen said that suggestions to hold an online exhibition were heeded immediately when they were put forward during a promotional meeting held in Guangzhou on July 2. The online platform has been praised for being in real-time and easy for users to get in touch with each other.

This year’s CIFIT featured different events than usual, including the China LP Conference and the 1st NewFortune Best Private Fund Awards Ceremony. The offline event will come to an end Friday.

Chen also expressed hope that the fair would play an irreplaceable role not only in terms of exhibition and conferences, but also in boosting investment. The online platform will go on infinitely and will continue to expand investment channels and normalize online exhibition promotions, online investment, and online project signing in the future.
