Shanghai airports see high passenger throughput growth
From January to February, passenger throughput at Shanghai airports saw higher growth than other airports in China. The year-on-year increase at Shanghai airports reached 4.3 percent; other listed airports measured less than 4 percent.
During the same period, passenger throughput growth for international air routes reached up to 8 percent, five percentage points higher than the national average of 3 percent.
About 1,009 planes land and take-off in the airport on average daily. The runway capacity utilization rate is lower than 70 percent. It is estimated that Shanghai will be the first choice for opening new international air routes since it has strong economic conditions.
