SEOUL - The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States will hold a second round of rare denuclearization talks next week in Geneva, local media reported Monday.

The two countries might meet on October 26, an unidentified source told Yonhap News Agency. George Schwab, president of the National Committee on American Foreign Policy, a policy think tank, also confirmed the news to the Seoul-based news service.

In July, Pyongyang and Washington held talks in New York over reviving stalled six-party talks over ending Pyongyang's nuclear program.

Seoul also held two rounds of denuclearization talks with Pyongyang, their first meeting in nearly three years.

The DPRK declared the six-party aid-for-denuclearization talks, last held in December 2008, "dead" in 2009 but has since expressed its wish to return to the negotiating table.
