NEW DELHI - An Indian Air Force Jaguar aircraft on Friday crashed near Bibber village in Gujarat's Bhuj area, western India, but the pilot managed to eject safely, said a defense ministry release.

The crash took place at 12:06 pm local time.

"The pilot, who was airborne from Bhuj at 11:40 am, was on a flying training mission and has ejected safely. There is no reported damage on the ground," the release said.

It said that a court of inquiry has been ordered to investigate the accident.
