Nanjing issues noise-reducing notice to support gaokao takers

To create a quiet and comfortable environment for students preparing for gaokao, Nanjing city in Jiangsu province has launched a campaign to prevent noise disturbances from construction works, People's Daily reported.

According to the report, from June 2 to 9, noise-producing activities are prohibited in the city during the daytime and nighttime unless there are special needs. These activities include car honking, commercial promotion, interior decoration, demolition and construction. During the exams, noise-producing activities will not be allowed within 500 meters from exam sites.

Many other cities have also issued official notices to suspend nighttime construction activities during the gaokao preparation and exam period.
