Colored pottery camel unearthed from Tang Dynasty tomb

Over 70 funerary objects, including figurines of Hu people (a general term for people of non-Han origin)and a pottery camel and horse, were unearthed from a couple's tomb dating from the Tang Dynasty (618-907) in Huayin, Central China's Shaanxi province on Dec 4, 2014. Song Su, the owner of this tomb, was a county magistrate in Dunhuang during the reign of Emperor Gaozong (649 to 683) of the Tang Dynasty, according to Liu Daiyun, an associate researcher from Shaanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology. Experts think that the discovery of this tomb will provide material for research on the history of cultural exchange on the Silk Road. [Photo/China News Agency]
