Employee training: paid or unpaid?

( bbs.chinadaily.com.cn) Updated: 2015-04-22 07:17

Editor's Note: Many companies encourage workers to continue their education, but if an employee in good standing wants to take a course or go back to school at night or on weekends, who should pay for the classes? Share your views on our website.

Simran (China)

If the company doesn't pay the education gap, we have no choice but to pay it. When there are so many other strivers competing in the labor market with you, there's no longer an excuse to expect to be given things. Now in China the job market is very tight. Job seekers realize that they have to be competitive both on cost and quality. Even though when you are hired, you also feel stressed because some companies also have the policy that employees with the poorest performance will be fired. If you don't find a way to learn, work hard, excel, and stand out, the crowd will trample you.
